Lisa and Nick’s Relaxed Spring Surrey Wedding –
Gloriously Chilled The Mill at Elstead Wedding
When Lisa and Nick first got in contact with me about their The Mill at Elstead wedding I was intrigued. Speaking over FaceTime we just clicked. They were both super fun and were sure with what they wanted. I swear we hung up the phone and then in a few hours I had an email from Lisa saying that they wanted me to be a part of their day. It was amazing. Also having never shot a wedding at the venue before there is always an excitement around new places and couples.
Lisa is so down to earth and lovely. She is the kind of girl that you could go for a drink with and there would be no awkward silences. Nick was equally as sweet and quietly reserved. Both of them were super chilled and wanted their wedding day to focus on the party and on the people that they loved most. However, when Lisa told me that she was going to be wearing a Grace Loves Lace dress I had a cartoon moment when my eyes turns into hearts. On the morning of the wedding neither Lisa or Nick wanted their prep covered so the day started at The Mill at Elstead.
This decision to not include prep photography is totally up to each couple. Having recently written a blog about groom preparation photography and whether it is always the right choice. In this industry it is always important, in my opinion, to listen to what your couples want and not what is best for Instagram! I love it that they both were not fussed about prep and were confident enough to communicate this to me. I do not blame them for wanting to focus more time on the party with their people.
Gorgeous Spring The Mill At Elstead Wedding
Nick was a pillar of calm on the morning of the wedding when I met him. Lisa, her bridesmaids and her mother arrived before the ceremony and had a quick moment for some group photographs before walking down the aisle. With a beautiful ceremony with multiple readings, many in the crowd were bought to tears. Surrounded by their closest friends and family Lisa and Nick had a lovely outdoor reception next to the water. The guests enjoyed the wildlife as well as the canapés and champagne. With threat of weather it was lovely that they couple achieved the outdoor reception that they desired. However, if it does rain on your wedding day there are handy tips to help with rainy weddings on my blog that can help you. I hope that you enjoy looking through the photographs, I am sure that they will speak for themselves.
