HANNAH & DAVE’S INTIMATE WEYBRIDGE WEDDING
Hannah and Dave’s Weybridge wedding was small but perfect. This intimate Surrey wedding is a special one. Not only was it the first ‘pandemic wedding’ that I could photograph, but it was also my first wedding of 2021. Talking to Hannah and Dave before their day, they had the same worry. They were both concerned that although this wedding was not what they had initially envisioned, they still wanted to make the day special. Many of my couples organising their postponed COVID weddings felt the same. Hannah and Dave were not alone.
When planning a small wedding, there is not need to avoid the traditions of a larger scale one. A small wedding has the same value and is still the same momentous life event. Regardless if there are fifteen people allowed or 100. Your wedding is deserving of all the traditions and celebration. In my opinion – wear the dress, plan for confetti, drink the bubbles and order the expensive food. It is still a day to be celebrated and prioritised. Once I had reassured both Hannah and Dave of this the planning of their intimate Surrey wedding was in full swing. We planned for confetti, champagne and fun. There are some helpful tips in my blog about your micro wedding guide for planning a smaller scale wedding.
Hannah and Dave’s gorgeous intimate Weybridge wedding
On the wedding day we met outside the venue for their Weybridge wedding. With COVID rules in place the ceremony at Weybridge Register Office was arranged a little differently. With the guests entering the room with the couple already waiting and no readings or couples entrance. None the less, it was a really gorgeous little ceremony. With all of Hannah and Dave’s key people present. After the ceremony we set aside time for group photographs and couples portraits at the Oatlands Park Hotel where they were returning to for their wedding night. As well as s cheeky gin and tonic!
This wonderful wedding is representation of how a smaller scale wedding is just as meaningful and beautiful as a larger scale event. If anything, photographing more intimate Surrey wedding this year than ever before makes me love them even more!
