FIONA AND JOHN’S INTIMATE OATLANDS PARK WEDDING
When Fiona and John contacted me about the possibility of photographing their Oatlands Park wedding I was immediately excited. Their wedding sounded like everything that a wedding should be. The couple wanted the focus of the day to be on their family and close friends. When we chatted they explained that they were conscious about the fact that together they didn’t want to get married in a stuffy traditional way. Being an older couple, this marriage was not their first as individuals. Collectively they have four adult children between them. Therefore, what was important to Fiona and John was to capture the mood of the day in a happy informal style. This Surrey wedding photography opportunity was music to my ears! A fun, informal and intimate wedding is just up my street.
Thankfully after a lovely meeting with Fiona and John they invited me to photograph their Oatlands Park wedding. Fiona did not want any bridal preparation photography. I love it when couples are honest with what they desire from their wedding photography. Capturing weddings for couples when they are most comfortable allows me to perform to the best quality. After an intimate ceremony at Weybridge Registry Office the couple and their wedding party travelled down the road to Oatlands Park for their wedding reception.
Gorgeous, relaxed and Intimate Oatlands Park Wedding
Oatlands Park Hotel is a beautiful venue in Surrey. As the guests were arriving the wedding party and I ventured into the garden. On Fiona and John’s wedding there was the threat of rain. Is there ever on an English wedding day? So, because of this we decided to capture the group photographs in the gorgeous gardens at Oatlands Park. Taking photographs of this beautiful blended family was such a pleasure. Fiona, John and their brood are the kind of family that when you were at school you wanted to hang out with the kids and the parents alike! Capturing the group photographs was so much fun, we could not stop laughing.
After some rousing and emotional speeches the wedding party got down on the dance floor and Fiona and John welcomed more guests. Their friends and family were the heart and soul of this Oatlands Park wedding day and it was wonderful. Above all, what resonated with me so much during this wedding day in particular was the love that Fiona and John had for each other. They were besotted by one another and it was a complete privilege to be a part of their day.
Here are some lovely words from Fiona and John about my wedding photography
“Jesse is just fabulous I knew from the first email exchange that we had found the right photographer. I was nervous about being an older bride and she made me feel so much better with her words “happy people look beautiful” this stuck with me and instead of being critical of myself she captured the utter joy I felt on our day. Everyone enjoyed her company and now our kids are all saying she will be doing their future weddings. The memories she has captured mean the world to us, if you are considering a photographer I cannot recommend her highly enough.”
