SARAH + ALI’S SUMMER ST MARTHA’S CHURCH WEDDING WITH RUMBOLDS FARM WEDDING RECEPTION
There is something wonderful about a St Martha’s Church wedding ceremony. Maybe it is the walk up through the trees, that lends something spiritual to lead you on to the next life journey you are about to make. Or possibly it is just the stunning views that the church boasts upon your arrival to the top of the hill. Either way I was ecstatic to be asked back to photograph a wedding at St Martha’s Church. It is quite honestly one of my favourite places in Surrey. With the added excitement of a Rumbolds Farm wedding reception (having never photographed a wedding there before) I was very happy to capture Sarah and Ali’s day.
Sarah + Ali Were Childhood Sweethearts…
So when they booked me as their photographer it was so lovely to connect with them and their story. Having gone to school with the two of them, I had an insight into their childhood relationship, but not their story after school. Having lost touch it is always so heartwarming when people get back in contact. This wedding was so exception. It was wonderful to hear what Sarah and Ali had been up to, the adventures they had been on. The biggest one yet – becoming parents together. Having their little one present at their St Martha’s Church wedding was extremely special indeed.
The last wedding I had photographed at St Martha’s Church was a very wet and windy one. So it was lovely to be able to capture a wedding day with a different ambience. Of course rain does not ruin a wedding day, but it is lovely to be able to appreciate the views that the church has to offer after a ceremony. This is exactly what Sarah and Ali planned. After a lovely ceremony conducted by Sarah’s godmother. The couple exited the church with a flurry of confetti to have fizz and Cornish pasties in the church grounds.
After the fizz and pasties it was on to Rumbolds Farm for the wedding reception!
After some lovely food, some couples portraits in the sunset and fabulous speeches in the barn. The couple ended their night with a first dance to the song “Say It Ain’t So” by Blink 182 which really got the party going! It is safe to say that this was one of the loveliest weddings that I have ever taken part in.
