Relaxed and GORGEOUS Mother and Baby Photoshoot

This mother and baby photoshoot is especially close to my heart. Photographing Frederikke and Thomas’s wedding was such a joy. You can see their wedding on my blog here. It was a lovely intimate wedding day in their parent garden. Filled with love, laughter and gorgeous Danish traditions. When Frederikke contacted me I jumped at the chance to meet the newest addition to her family. Unfortunately Thomas was away in another country at the time Frederikke organised the photoshoot. So rather than delay the photography session, seeing as she was in Surrey, it was the perfect opportunity to capture mother and son together.

Surrey New Born Baby Photography At Home 

It is best with a mother and baby photoshoot to keep things simple. There is no need to over complicate family photography. There is no predicting what kind of night your baby is going to give you or whether they are in a difficult mood. I always arrive earlier rather than later, babies are fresher in the morning I find. I arrived for the mother and baby photoshoot and was able to spend some time catching up with Frederikke and her family. Living abroad and having a home base is a wonderful thing to come back to. Frederikke suggested having her mother and baby photoshoot at her families home. It seemed very fitting seeing as this was where I had photographed her wedding the year before.

I spent such a lovely time with Frederikke, her family and little baby Valdemar. We stayed at the family home and chatted about life, the nearing Christmas tradition and how life as a new mother was all consuming! It would have been a crime to leave Frederikke’s family home, the decor is absolutely beautiful. I simply had to capture Frederikke with her gorgeous little boy in the conservatory. Sometimes family shoots are busy and sometimes they are just as they should be, relaxed, natural and contented. It was such a pleasure to photograph Frederikke and her baby. I always feel at home whenever I visit. It was a wonderful thing to include Frederikke’s family in portraits with their little Prince.

Three generations in one photograph is a wonderful thing.
