The decorations were hung, the party hat was waiting and Imogen’s scrumptious smiling face was the added cherry on a delicious birthday cake! Sorry for all the birthday party analogy but this shoot was too sweet not too. If you recognise these gorgeous faces it is because I have photographed Imogen’s parents on many a session with their family members.

A Gorgeous way to celebrate a First Birthday with a Photography Shoot at Home

Having been in their lives for a few years now, it was lovely to see how wonderful being parents suited them. Both so playful and engaged with Imogen that it was nice to see how the family have grown and developed through the years. I photographed Millie’s sisters with their children in multiple family photography shoots over the years, so it was so lovely to see her so happy with her baby too. We started Imogens first birthday photography at home and then we moved outside to enjoy the weather (it was a very stuffy and hot day!) Chatting and catching up, whilst capturing some gorgeous portraits is such a lovely feeling. It is so special when past clients ask you back to document their lives. It really is such a privilege and it was such a relaxed family session. I hope that I am invited back to capture Millie and her family for many more years to come!

This Richmond Park family shoot at sunset is particularly special for me. The last time that I photographed Rathi and her family they were a family of four. It was such an honour then when she got back in contact to have another family session with me. This time with their gorgeous daughter as well! They wanted to have a sunset family session and I could not have been happier. It is no secret that I love a golden hour and a Richmond Park is a particularly special place for one. We even managed to re-create a photograph from our first family shoot of them all running towards me as a family (which the kids love and it burns off some excess energy in the process!)

What a special privilege to watch and capture families as they eveolve and grow.

Having never photographed a Beckenham Place Mansion wedding, I was extremely excited when Alana and Tom’s enquiry landed in my inbox. Even more so once I got to know the both of them, and realised that not only did I want to photograph their wedding – but I not so secretly also wanted to be their friend! They were two of the nicest people and chatting to them on their initial consultation, there was a mutual feeling of wedding style appreciation. Alana and Tom wanted a memorable wedding day, with a church ceremony and relaxed reception, with focus on the goings on in the day opposed to the staged moments. This is exactly why they were my ideal clients.

Fun and Relaxed Summer Beckenham Place Mansion Wedding

Alana got ready at her family home with her wedding party. There was a quiet buzz of energy in the morning and it is always such a wonderful place to document candid moments. With the morning a wash with hair and make up, once everyone was ready and Alana was in her dress it was time to meet Tom at the church. With no ceremony photography allowed, I was able to observe without my camera lens the love that these two shared. Then with a rainy confetti aisle it was time to make our way to their Beckenham Place Mansion wedding reception. We dodged the rain all day, making our best out of the situation (luckily the venue has a gorgeous covered entrance with beautiful columns to use for portraits) and a fantastic gardens to the rear, which we took full advantage of when the evening brightened up. With hilarious speeches, fantastic food and a raging dance floor, Alana and Tom really planned and celebrated to the full the most wonderful day.

Relaxed and Natural LGBTQ+ Wedding Photography

I was really excited when they booked me for their wedding as they were planning (with the right weather) to have an outdoor wedding ceremony. For couples seeking natural LGBTQ+ wedding photography, outdoor ceremonies provide authentic moments and relaxed settings. It is no secret but as a wedding photographer I adore outdoor wedding ceremonies. As luck would have it, their day was graced with sunshine and the rest was history. Arriving in two different classic cars, the ladies arrived with their wedding parties and walked down the aisle with their fathers. The ceremony was emotional and wonderful with really thoughtful speeches and readings. Now you would not tell, but the wedding reception was quite tight and did not leave any wiggle room for portraits. However, this is why relaxed couples are my target audience – we made up our portrait time after some lovely speeches and dinner. Ultimately, these spontaneous moments are the aim of natural LGBTQ+ wedding photography and help tell a genuine story of the day. This not only meant that the vibe was relaxed, but also that the couple got a chunk of time to catch up with each other and be alone (with me capturing from a distance obviously!) After this there was cake and dancing and I am thankful that Flo and Jade trusted in me and that I was able to be part of their day.

As a Surrey wedding photographer I try to be a good wedding parent and not choose favourites (although if I was pushed this would be up there with them, but shhhhh do not tell the others!) Jess and Katie’s outdoor barn wedding was everything a quintessential summer wedding in England hopes to be. With an outdoor ceremony and speeches, a dinner cooked outdoors on a spit and a dance floor that spills out into field bathed in the evening light. At the time of writing this, it is with a sadness that The Barn KT9 are no longer taking wedding bookings. Jess and Katie’s wedding was actually the last booking that the barn had and boy did they give it the send off it deserved!

WITH FIRST LOOKS, LOVING AND EMOTIONAL SPEECHES AND A DANCE FLOOR THAT SPILLED OUT ON TO THE FIELD IN THE EVENING LIGHT

This outdoor barn wedding (which is also hosted in the old hangar on the venue) was simply the best from start to finish. The couple got ready in the Shepard’s huts in the site with their wedding parties. It was a really relaxed and beautiful morning. Followed by the loveliest first look sessions that I have ever had the pleasure of witnessing. Both Jess and Katie were so loved up and into what each other had chosen for their wedding outfits. The couple walked down the aisle together, with a gorgeously celebrant led outdoor wedding ceremony. The speeches were given outdoors with guests sitting upon hay bales, and dinner was served inside the hangar as the sun was beginning to set. More speeches were given as pudding arrived and then after dinner we snuck into the fields with golden hour light for a few more couples portraits.

An outdoor Surrey family shoot with Maddie and her mums, before they become a family of four

It was so lovely to have this outdoor woodland family shoot with Maddie and her mums, because the last time that we met she was not even earth side yet. Jess, Ella and I had met previously for an outdoor maternity shoot on Brighton beach together. So now to meet Maddie and have my lovely couple expecting another baby, it was extremely special. Returning to photograph clients again is such an honour. It is also a privilege to witness families grow and being able to capture the love is so wonderful.

We met on the common for our outdoor Surrey family shoot, which was a familiar place for Jess, Ella and Maddie. It is great to have family shoots which are in new places, other than Surrey locations that I can suggest. But I like to ask families for locations that are special or have meaning to them. This can create a lasting memory to have photographs in a place that is somewhere that is unique to families together.

Let me start by saying that this couple are some of the nicest people that you would ever meet. Their Hampton Court House wedding was so quintessentially perfect for them as a pair. It was the right mix of stylish and laid back. With a heartfelt ceremony with a relaxed outdoor reception. The two entered into an uproar of applause and love with guests spontaneously winging their napkins in the air. The speeches were wonderful and so personal to the two of them as a couple. You really got a feel for how much love there was between not only them but also their family and friends. These were followed on by an outrageously fun dance floor. I mean scroll down to check out the bubble machine and the chaos it created!

I don’t want to sound biased but Ellie’s Evie Young Bridal dress might have to be one of my favourite dresses of the YEAR!

This Hampton Court House wedding came to me through my favourite mode of client. They had been at another wedding that I had photographed and booked because of their friend’s wedding. They had been present at the lovely Freya and Rob’s wedding at Gildings Barn, which had been equally as epic.

So when the email came through from these two I was over the moon. Getting to work with couples from a previous wedding is so wonderful as there are so many familiar faces as well as new ones! It feels a little like coming home after a long trip away. Once the initial consultation call was over, I hope that they would choose my wedding photography. I guess you could say the rest is history as you can see from these images!

To say that Izzy and Olly’s DIY marquee wedding was epic is an understatement. This wedding was extremely heartfelt with some wonderful personal touches. With these personal touches, interwoven style elements really bought the wedding to life. From Izzy’s beautiful House of Savin dress to the test tube flower centre pieces to honour the couples jobs and interests. The marquee was placed on Olly’s family farm with a local tractor giving rides to the guests up from the ceremony to the reception location.

FROM A GORGEOUS WEDDING CAKE TO APRES SKI DRINKING GAMES

Izzy and Olly’s wedding was organised with lots of fun events and activities . They had apres ski drinking games set up outside the reception venue, which were well in keeping with their DIY marquee wedding theme. We were all lucky enough to spend time together at RHS Wisley gardens for an engagement shoot when I really got to know this couple better. Izzy and Olly talked during this about really wanting a day that was full of fun, family and friends. Which in my opinion is the bones of most wonderfully planned weddings.

They had a very personal wedding service at the family church, surrounded by their closest friends and family. The service was followed by a surprise for Izzy. Olly had arranged a surprise horse and carriage ride to take the couple from the church up to the outdoor marquee wedding venue. Izzy was completely amazed and was so utterly surprised by the situation. They looked like a fairy tale couple riding off into the sunshine together.

We were lucky enough after speeches to drive over to a near by friends field for possibly one of the most glorious sunset portrait sessions of the year! The wheat was blowing in the wind and Izzy and Olly were so in love – it was almost too incredible to capture. The end to an absolutely gorgeous day.

Now I know that predominantly I specialise in Surrey wedding photography. However, sometimes a wedding comes along and blows your catchment area right out of the water. This East Quay Wedding is one of those weddings! I cannot begin to tell you how long this Whitstable beach wedding venue has been on my bucket list. But let’s say I have been photographing weddings for over ten years and this is my first time at this venue! When Sophie and Karly first enquired with me I was ecstatic to say the least. After our initial phone call I was wishing from the moment that they hung up for them to book me. Not just because East Quay was a wedding venue was on my list, but because the three of us got on like a house on fire. Luckily the feeling was mutual and the rest is history as they say!

Fresh Oysters, Tons of Wedding Confetti and Beach Wedding Portraits Galore!

Once I had arrived at this East Quay wedding venue the decorations were amazing! With personalised wedding signs and oyster place settings by Made by Jo and florals by Janet Graham Greener the venue couldn’t have looked more beautiful. This was until the couple turned up with their families in turn and then the place was perfect! Both Sophie and Karly in their wedding outfits looked incredible. With Sophie’s dress from Story of My Dress Bridal and Karly’s suit from Reiss, these two looked phenomenal.

They each walked down the aisle with their fathers and had personalised readings in the ceremony. Sophie and Karly exited the venue to the BIGGEST confetti aisle I have ever been a part of. It was amazing! With fresh oysters and lobster rolls being served along side Aperol spritz cocktails, East Quay wedding venue knows how to start a wedding party! The wedding couple laughed and partied with their guests all afternoon until it was time for speeches and cake. With lots of love and happy tears we were able to sneak in some windy Whitstable beach wedding portraits too alongside a cracking sunset!

Looking for an amazing outdoor wedding? Search no further than this gorgeous Gildings Barn wedding! Alexia and Jack planned such a wonderful day. The weather held out and they got married outside on a beautiful May weekend. Alexia walked down the aisle with her dad and the couple had a lovely outdoor celebrant led wedding ceremony. They had their niece and nephew walk down the aisle too, which was incredibly adorable.

Alexia and Jack’s Gildings Barn wedding was so lovely and intimate. They had decided to have a very small ceremony with their closest family. Then later, after some champagne and group photographs the rest of their wedding party arrived. This was a really lovely way to incorporate having an intimate wedding with a bigger party. Having big wedding ceremonies is surprisingly anxiety inducing for some couples.

With the amount of rain that the UK saw this summer. Alexia and Jack’s day started the season off with a bang! They had such a wonderfully sunny and warm day. After speeches, we caught some golden hour portraits in the field beside the barn. This is a lovely moment for the couple to take some time away from the busy hustle and bustle of a wedding day. Plus it is one the best parts of a wedding, in my opinion. Taking a walk in the golden sunshine together is such a lovely experience. Plus I am a sucker for a sunset!
