ANOUSHKA + LAURIE’S COLOURFUL HINDU SOUTH FARM WEDDING CEREMONY
Photographing Anoushka and Laurie’s South Farm wedding felt a little like coming home too long lost friends. Having had the pleasure of documenting their engagement shoot at Forty Hall I was then present at their first wedding. They were married in a Christian ceremony to honour Laurie’s heritage and had their reception returning to Forty Hall once more. After this union, as their photographer, I had the pleasure of documenting both Anoushka’s Mehndi party and her Vidhi ceremony at home. Before photographing their South Farm wedding day in November.
Getting to know Anoushka and Laurie’s family during these intimate moments cemented our trust together and working relationship. Being present in another persons culture is eye opening and wonderful. As it happens I have attended and photographed many Hindu ceremonies so I knew what moments to look out for and be a part of. After a week of festivities and build up, the time came for Anoushka and Laurie’s South Farm wedding.
Here Are Some Lovely Things That They Said About Me And My Photography
We love everything about working with Jesse and feel so spoiled she was able to spend our South Farm wedding day(s) with us as our photographer. Her patience, care and experience working with families and venues meant the images taken have a wonderfully relaxed feel. Moments we could have missed or had hoped someone had captured were and the planning was very relaxed and straightforward.
Anoushka and Laurie’s South Farm wedding was all that it should have been. Fun, energetic, colourful and full of love and laughter. Anoushka got ready with her bridesmaids on site in the bridal suite, with Laurie in a room not too far away. Although it pretty much rained the whole day – this did not phase the couple one bit. From going out with umbrellas for their couples portraits, to changing their rain soaked confetti line to an indoor dash right before the wedding breakfast. With Anoushka’s favourite artist (good old Taylor Swift) kicking off their first dance and night time festivities – this wedding was truly a highlight of my year.
