ELLIE AND KRIS’S FUN FILLED WEDDING AT THE FARNHAM POTTERY
This particular Farnham Pottery wedding is especially close to my heart. This is not because I have a soft spot for pottery, but as it happens I have a soft spot for our couple. Ellie is a best friend from years gone by, and we were reconnected (thankfully) through my career. She was getting married. Stepping back into Ellie’s childhood home and family, was like returning to a familiar dream. The bones of the place were just how I had remembered it, but things felt a little different. Ellie’s family and parents were present, but in the space that had once held us as children, now had evolved. Grandchildren roamed the hallways and new partners were introduced. The feeling of the home was exactly how I had remembered it, but the lives had moved on.
I could go on about all the memories that were held in this space for me personally…
So many of my core memories inhabit the walls of Ellie’s childhood home and the people within them. It was a wonderful experience being able to come home to this place and capture such a momentous life event for Ellie and her family. Being able to be present and to look onto such a wonderful family through the eyes of my camera lens was such a privilege. When you photograph a wedding you usually come out of the experience feeling like you have gained friends. Luckily with this wedding I felt like I was returning to them. Now enough of the soppy stuff…
When Ellie and Kris told me they were having a wedding at The Farnham Pottery – I was instantly excited. This venue is so unique and wonderful. As a Surrey wedding photographer I felt instantly creative when I saw the venue. There are so many artistic pieces and elements to this place that it is hard not to become inspired. They were married on one of the hottest May days that I can remember. It was beautiful. With some heartfelt speeches, some of the best catering I have ever eaten on a wedding day (thank you to Hobo Cafe) and a cracking dance floor – this family know how to throw a party .. as you are about to see.
