Natalie and Dan’s Relaxed and Intimate Surrey Wedding
A Joyful Scandinavian Celebration
This was my second time photographing an Artington House wedding. However, this intimate Surrey wedding was defiantly special. Natalie’s Dad, Claus, contacted me about a couple of months or so before her wedding as he had searched for ‘Natural Wedding Photographer Surrey’ and had found me. He was a fellow Scandinavian and in their polite manner did not want any intrusive photography at his daughters intimate Surrey wedding. The purchase of her wedding photography package was also a surprise. How sweet was Claus? Arranging wedding photography for his daughter as a surprise was literally the sweetest thing I have encountered. Having connected with my fellow Scandinavian’s in my last wedding calendar with Henrik and Thea’s Swedish woodland wedding. Then again with Frederikke and Thomas’s Surrey Danish wedding – I was fully excited to be reuniting with my Danish heritage once more.
The Danes do not like to draw attention to themselves unnecessarily. Which is why Natalie and Dan’s intimate Surrey wedding fitted the couple perfectly. They wanted coverage from ceremony till dinner and I was all over it. Wedding photography does not need to be tailored to the standard nine or ten hour slots. You can make your coverage what you would like. Natalie and Dan’s wedding is a shining example. A couple of weeks before the big day, the metaphorical cat was out of the bag. Natalie was aware that I was going to be there documenting her intimate Surrey wedding and was just as excited.
An Artington House Wedding – the DANISH Way
Natalie and Dan had an Artington House wedding, at Guildford’s registry office just outside of the town centre. The bride arrived in a family friends car. Adoring friends and family were there to greet her with waves and cheers along with Dan. Their ceremony was intimate and beautiful. Of course once exiting the building as husband and wife their friends and family formed a confetti line. With a slight difference from English weddings. The Danes love to wave Danish flags on any special occasion. This includes picking up loved ones in the airport and waving their flags at the arrivals gate! With a reception dinner at a local pub, Natalie and Dan’s wedding had all the right things in all the right places. Intimate, special and celebratory.
