CHRISTENING PHOTOGRAPHY ON A HOT SUMMERS DAY

When Lisa contacted me for christening photography, I jumped at the chance to spend time with her lovely family again. I photographed Lisa and John’s wedding a couple of years previously in London. It was such an honour to be invited back to document another momentous day in their lives. I arrived in Chelmsford on possibly one of the hottest days in June.

Inside the house and Lisa was doing everything to keep Lily cool in the morning heat. I was able to take some pictures of Lily’s room and document her family home. These details are important when documenting a day in the life photography. It sets up an overall tone to the shoot and captures elements that you would overlook in every day life. Personal objects build up the story of the day and it is important to remember places as well as people.

Chelmsford Christening Photography

After getting ready at their family home together with her parents, Lisa and John met the rest of their friends and family at their local church. A beautiful intimate ceremony took place at the church and after taking some photographs with Lily’s godparents they all headed down the road to a local pub. Lisa and John chose a pub that was walking distance from the ceremony, which happened to be The Cricketers. Waiting at the pub there was a beautiful cake made specially for Lily’s christening. Many Pimms were drank and lunch was served in the blazing summers weather. There was time for some family photographs in the shade of the mid-day heat and goodbyes were said as the sun was setting over the heat waves. It was so amazing to be re-involved with another celebration and I hope that you like looking through the photographs as well.
